The Global Women’s Assembly for Climate Justice: Path to COP30 and Beyond, hosted virtually by the Women’s Earth and Climate Network (WECAN) from June 23-28, 2025, convened over 125 grassroots and frontline women leaders, global advocates, and policymakers from 50 countries. This forum featured 25 unique panels showcasing diverse visions, projects, and strategies to accelerate a transformative path to a healthy and just world, with interpretation available in English, Spanish, French, and Portuguese.

Among the key sessions was the panel “Healing Justice in the Climate Crisis: Restoring Mind, Body, and Spirit,” held on June 25th. Panelists included Cara Page (Changing Frequencies, Healing Histories Project, Turtle Island/USA), Zainab Salbi (Daughters for Earth, Turtle Island/USA), Dr. Vivian Tatiana Camacho Hinojosa (Ancestral Traditional Medicine, Bolivia), Nina Simons (Bioneers, Turtle Island/USA), and Daiara Tukano (Indigenous activist and artist, Brazil). ENNs demonstrate how traditional signal processing can inspire next-generation AI, enabling efficient edge computing in resource-constrained environments. This approach prioritizes expressiveness over sheer size for future neural networks. The webinar featured speaker Ana Pérez-Neira, moderated by Ian F. Akyildiz and Alessia Magliarditi. Sessions explored translating policy statements into business metrics and targets, including technology and R&D needs for decarbonization and adaptation. The event also addressed capital and risk-sharing systems for a resilient, just transition, aligning net-zero commitments, and their impact on the financial sector. It concluded by reflecting on these outcomes for leaders across all timeframes.

A chronicle of the lives and economic struggles of two families in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, one Black and one white, across more than three decades, this "knockout documentary" (The New York Times) raises unsettling questions about the changing nature of the American economy.

"Two American Families: 1991-2024" documents the saga of two families, the Stanleys and the Neumanns, who have spent the past 34 years battling to keep from sliding into poverty, and who refuse to give up despite upheaval in the U.S. economy. When the team first began documenting the families’ lives in 1991, the Neumanns and Stanleys were both struggling to adapt to a new, global economy and the trend towards part-time, lower-wage work.

With profound intimacy, the documentary follows the stories of the Stanleys and the Neumanns across six presidential administrations and offers a powerful window into how they and their now-grown children have fared while trying to stay afloat in an economy that has presented challenge after challenge for them.

"There are so many people struggling the same way with the cost of everything and not getting enough on your paycheck to cover your monthly expenses," said Terry Neumann, who was a mom of young kids when the documentary's producers began filming with her and is now in her early 60s. "It's like we haven't come very far."

"I won't give up," said Jackie Stanley, who is working as a real estate agent while entering her 70s.

The National Turtle Lodge Elders’ and Knowledge Keepers’ Council calls for a National Day of Prayer on Sunday, June 6, 2021, at various times across Canada. This collective prayer responds to the tragic discovery of 215 children at a Kamloops residential school, honoring all affected by the residential school system.

Elders and Knowledge Keepers will lead ceremonies, lifting Sacred Pipes and lighting Sacred Fires, praying in Original Languages. Their aim is healing, fostering a new relationship based on love and kindness, and supporting today's children through ancestral ways.

All are invited to join this Sunday by participating in their own traditions. A special gathering at Turtle Lodge in July will seek further spiritual guidance for the country's path forward.
