Un grave brote de enfermedad global causado por el hongo quitridio está matando a las ranas en todo el mundo, y las especies en los bosques nublados como el Parque Nacional Cusuco cerca de San Pedro Sula tienen mayor riesgo. In April this year, Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti released LA's Green New Deal, an ambitious update to the City's 2015 Sustainability pLAn. The Green New Deal outlines 445 initiatives for the city to achieve zero waste and net zero carbon emissions by 2050. Within its 13 chapters and 152 pages, the GND includes one statement concerning LA's fashion industry to "Engage the textile and apparel industry to develop and implement zero waste manufacturing strategies and divert unwanted garments from landfill."
