SDG 7: Affordable and Clean Energy More than a month after the release of the latest IPCC report, the goal still feels hard to reach, and companies and governments seem to struggle to reduce their CO2 emissions. And yet, a revolution is happening right under our eyes: according to the International Energy Agency (IEA), the world’s renewable energy industry grew at its fastest pace since 1999 last year and may have established a standard for growth in the future. From internal operations to business model integration: What is the role of businesses in the transition to renewable energy? What is at stake for the private sector? Does choosing renewable energy necessarily mean paying a higher price? Is affordable and clean energy for all achievable by 2030? Building on this momentum, we seize the opportunity to host a 2-part live panel discussion with B Corps working at the forefront of the SDG7 “Affordable & Clean Energy”. Dr. Rajiv Kumar, Vice-Chairperson of the Niti Aayog joins us as a farmer who talks about his mission towards reforming the Indian agriculture practices through the introduction of Natural Farming. He highlights how this method can not only help us solve, but reverse climate change and in turn, empower a new generation of climate warriors. Rajiv Kumar is an Indian economist and is currently the vice-chairman of the NITI Aayog, in the rank and status of a Cabinet Minister. He also serves as the Chancellor of Gokhale Institute of Politics and Economics, Pune. Kumar holds a Ph.D. from the Lucknow University, which he received in 1978 and a D.Phil. in Economics from Oxford University which he received in 1981.
