Brendan explores the nature of species and extinction risk, offering a new lens—the wonder of nature's irreplaceable designs—to evaluate conservation policies. His philosophical and practical insights aim to reshape our approach to environmental challenges.

With a Ph.D. in philosophy and a background in neuroscience, Brendan's research bridges science and philosophy. He investigates how evaluation translates into action, why we sometimes fail to do what's right, and ethical questions concerning the value of species. He teaches ethical theory, helping students apply philosophical reflection to real-world problems.
