People of many faiths embrace the idea of "creation care" - taking care of God's gift of earth. Join Jose Aguto and Tori Goebel to hear how their faith guides their climate action, and how you can build relationships with faith leaders in your community. Tori serves as the National Organizer and Spokesperson for Young Evangelicals for Climate Action. She holds an undergraduate degree in communications and political science from Gordon College (B.A. '16) and a masters of environmental law and policy from Vermont Law School (M.E.L.P. '19). Tori spent 4 years as Communications Director for YECA and the Evangelical Environmental Network, YECA’s partner ministry. Tori was born and raised in New England and currently lives in the Boston area. Catholic Climate Covenant collaborates with Catholic organizations and across sectors to advance the Church's call to love and care for God's creation, our vulnerable neighbors, and all people, including those we may view as adversaries. Prior to the Covenant, Jose worked for the Friends Committee on National Legislation, the National Congress of American Indians, EPA's American Indian Environmental Office and the Lawyers' Committee for Civil Rights Under Law. Andrea Zink has spent her career working in the non-profit sector for mission-driven organizations such as The Salvation Army, Vanderbilt University, and Nashville Opera. The promise of this technology has created an international race to innovate, with significant investment by government as well as industry. And much innovation is needed as 6G aspires to not only support significantly higher data rates than 5G, but also improved reliability along with excellent coverage indoors and out, including for underserved areas. New architectures including edge computing must be designed to drastically enhance efficient resource allocation while also reducing latency for real-time control. Breakthrough energy-efficiency architectures, algorithms and hardware will be needed so that wireless devices can be powered by tiny batteries, energy-harvesting, or over-the-air power transfer. And machine learning may will play a big role in the underlying technologies for NextG as well as the “killer apps” that will drive its deployment and success. Reconciling Ways of Knowing, Dialogue 4: “Two-Eyed Seeing & Beyond” This dialogue originally aired on October 28, 2020 at 8:30 am Pacific / 10:30 am Central / 12:30 pm Atlantic. Mi’kmaq Elder Albert Marshall, Drs. Jesse Popp, Andrea Reid and Deborah McGregor discussed the idea of Etuaptmumk or Two-Eyed Seeing and other related frameworks for understanding across ways of knowing with moderator Jacquie Miller, MA. Etuaptmumk Two-Eyed Seeing is a guiding principle developed by Mi’kmaq Elder Albert Marshall that recognizes that better outcomes are more likely if we bring two or more perspectives into collaboration. Accordingly, Etuaptmumk can also be understood as a gift of multiple perspectives, an insight and framework that could help us do better in many areas of our shared lives, including our relationship with the earth. The guests discussed how Two-Eyed Seeing requires learning together and from each other, and discussed other trans-systemic ways of knowing and understanding, including how the relationship committed to in the Two-Row Wampum can help guide our understanding and collaboration across ways of knowing.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture's misleadingly named Wildlife Services program kills more than a million wild animals every year, typically at the request of Big Ag. Scattering public lands with cruel traps and indiscriminate poisons, the program targets carnivores like coyotes, bears, beavers, otters and foxes. Even rare species like grizzlies and wolves are caught in the crosshairs. We've been working for years to shine a light on the feds' wildlife-killing and have succeeded in gaining protections for wildlife in several states. This presentation features our Carnivore Conservation Director Collette Adkins and Andrea Zaccardi, a senior attorney in our Northern Rockies office. In addition to talking about Wildlife Services, we discuss the latest news on grizzly bears and wolves, including the expected loss of wolf protections nationally and the importance of state-level wolf work if that does occur.

A short video put together after attending the 2014 Annual Conference of the American Society for Public Administration (ASPA) in March, 2014 in Washington, D.C. As a chairwoman of the National Conference on Women in Public Adminsitration in 1975 and at the invitation of Nancy Foye-Cox and with support from Sally Gutierrez, I moderated a wisdom cirlce of women ASPA leaders, attended the keynote speech by Dr. Bernise Sandler, the "godmother of Title IX" and celebrated the award to Nancy Foye-Cox of the Marcia P. Crowley Award for service to the Section on Women in Public Adminstration (SWPA). It is the friendship of myself, Sally and Nancy which forms the wisdom of friendship in one's worklife and hopefully puts to rest once and for all the idea that women do not support other women at work.

Black communities have a long and complicated relationship with American soil. The ongoing call to address systemic racism, patterns of abuse, violence and dispossession have brought back to the mainstream the conversation of BIPOC communities' historical connections to land.

What are the connections between this history and current "food apartheid" (food deserts)? How is the Black farming movement connected to changes in larger food systems and the growth of worker cooperatives? How are people incorporating environmental sustainability into their work? And what can we learn from both the rich history of resistance and current strategies to inform how we resource a world where all people have access to healthy, fresh and locally sourced food?
