"The Seven Sacred Teachings" is an imaginative animated web series. Written by Anishinabe Elder David Courchene, directed by Indigenous filmmaker Erica Daniels (Peguis First Nation), and produced by Peg City Pictures Inc., it follows a young Indigenous boy on a vision quest. He meets seven sacred animals who impart lessons on living harmoniously on Mother Earth.

Manitoba 150, in partnership with Turtle Lodge and IG Wealth Management, proudly presents these animated shorts. Turtle Lodge, an international center for Indigenous education and well-being on the Sagkeeng First Nation reserve, is renowned for sharing ancient knowledge and fostering connection. The event explored how to maximize health benefits for Multnomah County's homeless population through healthcare reform and Oregon Health Plan expansion. Homelessness is a complex public health challenge where the struggle for stability often overshadows health needs, exposing deep fault lines in our current healthcare system.

Panelists included Crista Gardner, David Labby, Leo Rhodes, and Rachel Solotaroff.

Dr. Amara Eniya explained how climate crisis-driven droughts and floods compound national debt, crippling nations struggling to meet basic needs. John D. I had never seen such a map depicting political data — certainly not election returns, and thus sought to create them.The isarithmic depiction does an excellent job of highlighting several broad patterns in modern U.S. political history. 

This animated interpretation accentuates certain phenomena: the breadth and duration of support for Roosevelt, the shift from a Democratic to a Republican South, the move from an ostensibly east-west division to the contemporary coasts-versus-heartland division, and the stability of the latter.

More broadly, this video is a reminder that what constitutes “politics as usual” is always in flux, shifting sometimes abruptly. The landscape of American politics is constantly evolving,  as members of the two great parties battle for electoral supremacy.
