Tracey Osborne's TEDxGAIAjourney closing keynote on October 15, 2020, explored intersectionality in the climate crisis through a systems view. An Associate Professor and Presidential Chair at UC Merced, Osborne specializes in the social and political economic dimensions of climate change.

Her research focuses on climate change mitigation, Indigenous Peoples' roles, climate finance, equity, and justice, with extensive field experience in Mexico and the Amazon. Osborne founded the UC Center for Climate Justice and leads the Climate Alliance Mapping Project, a collaborative effort for a socially-just climate response. Her work is published in high-impact journals, and she holds a PhD from UC Berkeley.
