Our purchasing decisions can significantly impact the future of imperiled native grasslands, along with the birds and ecosystems they support. In his TEDxFargo talk, Marshall Johnson, Executive Director of Audubon Dakota and VP of the National Audubon Society, highlights how marketplace choices can help farmers and ranchers conserve grasslands through regenerative grazing. He encourages seeking foods that are better for us and the land, making every day our own Earth Day.

For a decade, Johnson's team has built successful rural and urban community-focused habitat programs. His work in the Dakotas aligns farmers, ranchers, grasslands, and birds in win-win scenarios. Audubon's market-based Conservation Ranching Program now enrolls over 2 million acres across 60 ranches, and he leads the largest urban conservation program in the Northern Great Plains.
