Elder Nii Gaani Aki Inini emphasizes the importance of identity, history, and ancestral teachings, including the Anishinaabe Seven Sacred Laws and the healing power of land and rites of passage.

The Turtle Lodge International Centre for Indigenous Education and Wellness, founded on these sacred laws, has partnered with Sagkeeng Mino Pimatiziwin Family Treatment Centre. Together, they share teachings and guidance for healing from addictions.
