Ethnographic filmmaker David MacDougall was interviewed by EarthSayers.tv in April 2014, focusing on children in Indian institutional settings. His projects include films from The Doon School, such as "Doon School Chronicles" (2000), and work at Rishi Valley School. His experimental film "SchoolScapes" (2007), made at Rishi Valley, won the Basil Wright Film Prize. His latest film, "Gandhi's Children" (2008), focuses on a New Delhi children's shelter.

MacDougall authored "Transcultural Cinema" (1998) and "The Corporeal Image: Film, Ethnography, and the Senses" (2006). Educated at Harvard University and UCLA, he has resided in Australia since 1975. A more complete biography is available here.
