Candice Myers, a self-described "waste tragic," unexpectedly entered the waste industry in 2015. Despite a background in hospitality and accounting, the complexities of waste issues captivated her, transforming into a deep passion. This led her to pursue a Bachelor of Sustainability at 38 and a Masters of Environmental Sciences, all while raising three children.

Myers is dedicated to educating others and finding solutions to overconsumption and excess waste. She actively volunteers at litter pickups and builds worm farms, advocating for a shift in perspective: from waste as something to dispose of, to a valuable resource. Electric vehicles might seem relatively new. Or slow. Or just inferior to diesel. Eva Hakansson knew that that was what people thought, so she set out on a mission to convince them otherwise. Using her own personally designed, personally crafted electric motorcycle, she’s broken world records countless times over, shocking the world that electric vehicles can be both fast and sexy. Mechanical engineer, lecturer and world-record holder, Eva has shown the world just what electric vehicles can accomplish. Her father being a champion motorcycle rider/builder in the 60s, Eva was raised in a household destined for the racetrack. Starting with the first registered e-bike in Sweden, the ‘Electrocat’, Eva soon developed the ‘KillaJoule’ electric motorcycle in her garage and consequently broke records in land speed racing. Killajoule eventually went on to become the fastest female-driven electric motorcycle, clocking in at 434 km/hr. But determined to go even further, Eva’s latest project, the electric motorcycle ‘Green Envy’, seeks to become the fastest motorcycle in the world, with aims of reaching 650km/h. Outside of her racing career, however, Eva is also a distinguished academic, with Bachelor degrees in Business Administration and Environmental Sciences, a Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering and a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Denver. Katharine “Kat” Morris is a scholar-activist engaged in community organizing while completing her Masters of Public Policy at UConn. During her undergraduate years, she studied Cognitive Science and Anthropology, graduating Magna Cum Laude as an Honors Scholar. As a BOLD Scholar, Kat conducted independent research on Cross Cultural Engagement and Intersectional Activism Among UConn Affiliates and founded UConn Collaborative Organizing (UCCO) for grassroots organizing that prioritized intersectionality and solidarity in activism for social and environmental justice. In this TEDx talk, she discusses environmental racism and climate disasters from a local to global scale, and the power of collaborative organizing with LOVE. Chhavi Jatwani is the Design and Innovation Lead at the Future Food Network with international experience in food design and systems thinking. Chhavi has consistently been the industry first-mover, joining the first cohorts of all her educational experiences - BA in product & Interaction design in Bangalore, Masters in Food Design in Milan, and Food Innovation Global mission in Reggio Emilia. Growing up in a developing country, her strong internal compass is guided by only one question - What is the impact I am creating? She entered the food world with the ambition to promote a foundational systemic shift from intensive to regenerative, centralized to decentralized, taste & convenience-driven to also health and wellbeing focussed. In her ten years of experience as a social impact creative, the last five have focused on the intersection of food systems, design and business, maneuvering toolkits from design thinking, service design, systemic design, lean startup, and agile. Through R&D projects and innovation workshops, Chhavi has helped major FMCG companies like Dole, Barilla, and Ab-Inbev in sowing the seeds to their human and planet centered agenda.
