Understanding this flow aids hazard prediction and interpreting past flows on Earth, the Moon, and other planets. Dr. Meyer, a retired geology instructor, became curious about the Bonito flow, leading to detailed mapping via Lidar.

As Head of Sustainability for the America's Cup Event Authority, she has advised organizations including the United States Olympic Committee, the London 2012 Organizing Committee, and FIFA World Cup bid teams on embedding sustainable practices into their operations.

An International Swimming Hall of Fame inductee, Savery earned a Master's Degree from Yale University and coached athletes for over two decades.
