NASA analyses indicate that two key climate change indicators broke multiple records in the first half of 2016. Each of the first six months of 2016 was the warmest globally since modern temperature records began in 1880.

Furthermore, five of these months recorded the smallest Arctic sea ice extent since consistent satellite records started in 1979. NASA researchers are currently collecting additional data to better understand our changing climate.

Arun Pandian, a KPRIET CSE undergraduate, is a Data Scientist Intern and a founding member of his college's AI R&D team. As an undergraduate researcher, he has contributed to multi-disciplinary research, co-authoring two papers on computer vision in structural engineering through international collaboration.

He has developed numerous AI projects (e.g., COVID-19 Detector, Sentiment Analyst, Digit Recognizer) and web applications. He has honed strong communication skills through clubs and competitions. He is currently researching applied deep learning in healthcare.
