Risk Sharing in the Climate Emergency: A call to action for insurers, regulators and governments COP26, Banqueting hall, Glasgow City Council, City Chambers, Glasgow 3 November 2021, 12.30 to 14.30 ClimateWise and the Association of British Insurers are pleased to bring together senior representatives from insurance, regulators and governments to discuss the parts each must play as we step up to this global challenge. Speakers include: Dr Ana Gonzalez Pelaez (CISL), Dr Bronwyn Claire (ClimateWise), Ben Wilson (ABI) The University of Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership (CISL) and its insurance platform ClimateWise have been working with industry, regulators and policymakers to identify the top priorities for expanding risk sharing and insurance systems, urgently, as an essential policy response to the Climate Emergency. They bring to COP26 actionable recommendations for policymakers, private and public financial authorities and the insurance sector. These provide a pathway to: 1- Quantify, manage and reduce climate risks immediately. 2- Further integrate climate policy and regulation to ensure finance helps deliver a resilient, net zero, just transition for all, in emerging and developed economies.
