Alexandra Morel, a post-doctoral researcher at the University of Oxford, will discuss environmental change, focusing on the critical role of forests. Her extensive research spans tropical forests globally, from Malaysian Borneo to Ethiopia.

Dr. Morel's work explores the intersection of tropical forest ecology and smallholder agriculture, including the ecological limits of poverty alleviation (ecolimits.org). She also investigates the vital role of intact forests in providing global ecosystem services (eci.ox.ac.uk/if21/). A central theme in her research is understanding how forests mitigate and support adaptation to climate change.
