The University of Chicago Wisdom Research Forum 2014, published August 6, 2014, featured three lectures. Jason Swartwood, a philosophy doctoral candidate at the University of Minnesota, explored how wisdom is defined and recognized.

Sayuri Hayakawa from the University of Chicago Psychology Department discussed how bilingualism and language influence cognition. She noted that a lack of expertise can sometimes enhance creativity and lead to wiser decisions.

Guilherme Albieri of SUNY presented on wisdom's relationship to academic and clinical success. He highlighted that wise individuals possess superior self-regulatory and interpersonal skills, which mediate their interaction with the environment.

Jeffrey Webster, PhD, an Instructor of Psychology from Langara College, presented "The H.E.R.O.(E) Model of Wisdom" at the University of Chicago Wisdom Research Forum on May 8, 2015.

This model, which stands for Humor, Experience, Reflection, Emotion, and Openness, highlights the importance of grounding wisdom in real-life experiences.

On March 15, 2019, 1.5 million people globally participated in the School Strike for Climate. In this talk, 12-year-old climate activist and songwriter Lucy Gray makes a compelling argument for climate justice as humanity's path forward. She discovered her passion in 2017, subsequently forming a climate action group at her school.

When international strikes reached New Zealand, Lucy led the Christchurch strike and founded its local SS4C group. She now co-convenes the national School Strike for Climate NZ team, a student-led initiative urging urgent government action.
